Job Overview: As a Café Cook/ Chef , you will be responsible for preparing and executing Pure Eats menu items with speed, consistency, and quality. This role requires strong kitchen fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
You’ll be preparing items across breakfast, build-your-own bowls, wraps, salads, platters, and light café offerings, while supporting a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen.
Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation & Execution
  • Prepare and execute menu items including:
  • Breakfast plates, egg sandwiches, omelets, wraps, and burritos
  • Build-your-own bowls (rice, quinoa, salad bases, proteins, toppings, dressings)
  • Wraps, sandwiches, salads, and lifestyle bowls (keto, paleo, vegan, protein)
  • Grilled proteins including chicken, steak, vegetables, and roasted chicken
  • Follow Pure Eats recipes, portion standards, and plating guidelines
  • Prep ingredients daily (washing, chopping, portioning, labeling)
Kitchen Operations
  • Maintain proper food temperatures, storage, and FIFO procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
  • Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties
  • Keep prep and cook stations clean, stocked, and organized
  • Communicate clearly with counter staff to ensure smooth order flow
Quality, Safety & Cleanliness
  • Ensure all food meets quality, consistency, and presentation standards
  • Follow all NYC Department of Health food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Maintain a clean kitchen, equipment, and work area at all times
  • Notify Café Manager of inventory shortages, waste, or quality concerns
  • Assist with prep planning to support peak café hours
Team Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with café staff and management to ensure smooth service flow
  • Communicate clearly and professionally during busy service periods
  • Support new menu rollouts and seasonal offerings
Qualifications:
  • 3 years experience as a Café / Restaurant Cook/ Chef (Required)
